“Proving once more that the devil gets all the best music, Goat came to Koko last night to create one hell of a racket.”  Evening Standard

Masked, tribal, psych rockers Goat have announced their first ever European tour that will take them through 12 cities and finish with a huge show at the famous Roundhouse in London.

The Swedish band’s highly acclaimed debut album World Music in 2012 on Rocket Recordings, become one of the most talked about albums of the year.  Described as “a brilliant and intoxicating record” by Clash Music and  the BBC urged listeners to “surrender your mind, body and soul to the music of Goat and one of the year’s best albums”.  Since then, Goat have wowed fans at many of the great festivals including Glastonbury, Primavera, Roskilde, Flow, Way Out West, ATP and most recently, Coachella.

Their stunning live set was captured at a Glastonbury warm-up show at the Electric Ballroom in London, and was subsequently released as an album called Live Ballroom Ritual which left many journalists citing it as one of the best live albums ever made!

Fellow Rocket Recordings artist, Lay Llamas, whose debut album Ostro is released on 26th May will be supporting Goat on all UK dates.

In other news – Goat will also be appearing at Latitude festival as well as Incubate prior to this forthcoming European tour, where audiences can expect to hear new tracks from their follow-up to World Music.

The Pierces

SJM Concerts Presents LA-based soft-rockers

When 19/09/2014
from 19:00 to 23:00
Ticket Price £16 adv

The Pierces have announced details of a full UK headline tour in September in support of their new album ‘Creation’ which is released on September 1st. Starting in Edinburgh, the tour takes in 10 cities and includes a show at London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on September 23rd.

Creation’ is the follow-up to sisters Allison and Catherine Pierce’s 2011 breakthrough album, ‘You & I’. The Alabama-born siblings now reside in California and the relocation can be heard on their radiant new record.

‘Creation’ marks a stunning sonic evolution for the duo. From the opening title track, the thirteen songs retain the breezy, melodious charm of their previous work whilst injecting a world-wise, sun-drenched sparkle. Tracks such as ‘Kings’ and ‘The Devil Is A Lonely Night’ match taut grooves to soaring harmonies and there’s a life-affirming glow to the lolloping stomps of ‘Creation’ (their new single due for release on September 1st), ‘Believe In Me’ and ‘Honest Man’. Elsewhere, folk-pop ballads such as ‘The One I Want’ and ‘Flesh And Bone’ blend Laurel Canyon sing-alongs with melancholic reflections. The Pierces sound at the peak of their powers.

The new UK tour follows three sold out intimate UK shows in June that saw the sisters praised with critical acclaim of their ‘magical, sinuously intertwined voices’ (The Guardian).

The Jayhawks

DHP presents American alternative country and rock band

When 23/07/2014
from 19:30 to 23:00

“They say that there is no going back.   They say that you can never go home again.   But we are sure the hell going to try.   Karen Grotberg, Tim O’Reagan, Marc Perlman, Gary Louris, and Kraig Johnson are thrilled to dive back into the darkness of Sound Of Lies,  the joyous pop of Smile, and the simplicity of Rainy Day Music.”

The Jayhawks, an American alternative country and rock band that emerged from the Twin Cities music scene during the mid-1980s. Their country rock sound was influential on many bands who played the Twin Cities circuit during the 1980s and 1990s like Uncle Tupelo, The Gear Daddies and The Honeydogs. They have released several studio albums, including five on the American Recordings label. On hiatus from 2005 to 2009, the band has since reunited and released a new album, Mockingbird Time, in September 2011. (Wiki)
